Few parents with children properly store opioid medication

Researchers surveyed 681 adults with opioid prescriptions and youths at home and found that only 32% of those with children younger than 7 and 11.7% of those with children ages 7 to 17 said they stored medications in latched or locked locations. The findings in Pediatrics also showed that 70% believed that safe opioid storage was beneficial for their children.
